1. Petroleum coke carburizer (CPC-calcined petroleum coke)
During the production of graphite electrodes for steelmaking or anode paste (melting electrodes) for aluminum and magnesium production, in order to make petroleum coke (raw coke) meet the requirements, the raw coke must be calcined. The calcination temperature is generally around 1300°C, the purpose is to remove the volatile matter of petroleum coke as much as possible. This can reduce the hydrogen content of petroleum coke re-products, increase the degree of graphitization of petroleum coke, thereby improving the high-temperature strength and heat resistance of graphite electrodes, and improving the conductivity of graphite electrodes. Calcined coke is mainly used in the production of graphite electrodes, carbon paste products, corundum, food-grade phosphorus industry, metallurgical industry and calcium carbide, among which graphite electrodes are the most widely used. 2. Graphitized Petroleum Coke Carburizer (GPC)
Graphitized petroleum coke is made from calcined petroleum coke by placing calcined petroleum coke in a graphitization furnace and undergoing a graphitization process. It can also be called artificial graphite. It is a black or dark gray hard solid petroleum product with a metallic luster and is porous. It is a carbon body composed of tiny graphite crystals in the form of granular, columnar or needle-shaped. Petroleum coke components are hydrocarbons, containing more than 99% carbon, and also contain nitrogen, chlorine, sulfur and heavy metal compounds.
